Small files. Fewer compromises.

Start at 80% quality for everyday photos, then open the preview to check fine details. JPEG and WebP use lossy compression: lower quality usually makes smaller files. PNG stays lossless at its original dimensions, so the quality slider does not affect it.

A file limit to meet?

Choose a target from 50 KB to 1 MB. We look for a quality setting that fits, then reduce dimensions if needed. Targets are upper limits, not exact sizes. You will see the final dimensions and whether the limit was reached. Keep your original for printing or future editing.

Your photos stay yours.

Compression and ZIP creation happen in your browser. We do not upload your photos, save them to an account, or send them to an AI service. Clearing the list releases the images held by this page. Newly encoded files omit source EXIF metadata; when the original is already smaller, we keep it and clearly label that metadata may remain.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Good to know.

Which image formats can I compress?

Still JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP images are supported. Files keep their original format, and PNG/WebP transparency is preserved. Animated images, AVIF and HEIC are not supported in this version.

Is there a file or batch limit?

You can add up to 30 images, at most 30 MB each and 120 MB in total. Images must be no larger than 24 megapixels or 12,000 pixels on either side. These limits help protect browser memory, especially on phones. Files are processed one at a time.

Why did my image not get smaller?

An image may already be efficiently compressed. If re-encoding would make it larger, we offer the original instead. For PNG, a smaller target may require smaller dimensions. A dedicated palette optimizer is planned for a later version.

Does the tool work offline?

After this page and its processor have loaded, compression uses your device rather than a server. This is not an installable offline app yet; the first use of ZIP download may need to load a small local script from this website.
